Análise socioespacial da migração na Região Metropolitana da Grande Vitória- ES, nos anos 2000

Abstract

This paper discusses the migration process that took place in the Metropolitan Region of Greater Vitória, in the 2000s, based on data available in the 2010 Demographic Census. Its general objective is to understand migration in the GVMR, based on the analysis of population movements, through the complementation between three migratory modalities and presente a spatial distribution of migrants. For the execution of the analysis, secondary data from the 2010 Demographic Census were used to help understand the characteristics of migrants and also their concentration in Weighting Areas within the metropolitan region. In the spatial analysis of the distribution of migrants, a trend towards the targeting of migrants with similar characteristics was verified. It is observed that metropolitan areas with a greater concentration of infrastructure, commerce and services tend to attract most migrants with higher levels of income and education, in addition to being homogeneous in terms of color or race. On the other hand, in areas with a greater urban precariousness, the tendency is to attract migrants with lower levels of education and income, but also with heterogeneity regarding to color of skin or race. The importance of revealing and spatializing the reality of migrants in the GVMR can provide new research, state planning and investments that promote the quality of life of the inhabitants of the RMGV.
