Aplicabilidade e monitoramento de práticas sustentáveis em uma instituição pública

Abstract

Nowadays, sustainability has been widely discussed because environmental problems have affected human life. As well as private companies have been required a sustainable way of work, the public organizations has too. After analyzing the situation of one of the Ifes campuses, it was found that there was no control and monitoring of the sustainable practices performed on the campus. Within that premise, this work carried out an applied, documentary and exploratory research in a federal educational institution with application of questionnaire and interview. The report analysed the level of implementation and monitoring of sustainability practices on campuses and then, proposed an efficient tool to track needed actions. It was concluded that many of the actions were already being implemented, however there not was any type of control and monitoring. As a result, a tool was developed and validated so that managers could carry out their controls and obtain reports to assist decision-making, in order to promote improvements in activities and processes, in compliance with the requirements of legislation, especially those aimed at protection to the environment.
