Avaliação da qualidade das águas e de sua compatibilidade com os usos em microbacias hidrográficas rurais com déficit hídrico quantitativo.

Abstract

The Increasing demand for water due to population growth, socioeconomic development and the consequent expansion of the variety of forms of water resources uses, has led to an increasing reduction in water availability in many parts of the world. This fact has generated a water deficit situation in those regions and thus hampered the dispersion of pollutants that are discharged into waterways, compromising quality. Admitting the evidence of a situation of quantitative criticality, added to worsening quality of water resource, this research aimed to evaluate the water quality and its compatibility with the uses in rural watersheds with quantitative water deficit. For this, was considered a pilot region consisting of small family-based farmers, where was carried out a characterization of the study area and the land use and occupation. After this, was assessed the current water quality and its availability, in order to evaluate the influence of water quality in the uses and the uses in quality, and check the interference caused by water quality degradation in the water deficit at the region. As result, it was observed that in addition to problems of water availability, the water quality is deteriorating and it is unfit for human consumption, irrigation of diverse cultures, primary contact recreation and fish farming, which further aggravates the situation water scarcity and generates a qualitative and quantitative water deficit in the region studied.
