Resumo
This research refers to the study of five young participants of PROEJA FIC, aged 18-22 years, from September to December 2011, at IFES. These students sharpened my interest because, in school-age, they dropped out of school and now they return to it because they consider it as a mean to look for qualification to get a good job. I ve met my research field through my working experience gained at the institute during the period from 2009 to 2011. Knowing the life stories of young participants of PROEJA FIC through Oral History, leads us to seek an understanding of the conjunction that these subjects make between study and the world of work - since when in school-age they evaded school, and now they have returned to it because they considered it as a path to find qualification for the job market. Some questions that emerged during the research subsidized some reflections: What paths have been tracked since they left school until returning to it? What efforts did these young people provide to return to school? What daily movements have been made so that they can stay in school and achieve their goals? As a research method, we ve chosen the Oral History, which allowed us to discuss, analyze and rethink the production of these trajectories having as a method the Oral History, since through those shared life stories stood out the challenging experiences involving the daily lives of the young people interviewed. It also enabled an approach with the narrators of the stories and rescued the possibility of affecting and being affected. A brief discussion on the historical constitution of school education and its links with the work brought elements for the understanding of life histories found by entering there search field. A concise reflection was performed on the thematic youth, in order to assert not the youth in the singular but in its plural, considering the heterogeneity of this phenomenon, because there is not only one story of the youth nor a single conception of it. For this purpose, some theoretical contributions were used such as Enguita (1989, 2000); Ariès (1986); Lobo (2008); Foucault (2004, 2010); Chalhoub (1996); Patto (2007); Benjamin (1994); Alberti (2004), among others.
