The sanitary sewage systems must be improved, revised and adjusted to meet a growing demand for services, the lack of which affects the majority of the world. We also emphasize the other aggravating factors that contribute to the problem, as the scarcity of drinking water, lack of financial resources and increasing population. It was recently rescued an ancient idea about the reuse of excreta for use as fertilizer on the environment. In the application of this concept gives the name of Ecological Sanitation or Ecosan. In this system the sewers are separated at source in Bluewater, Greywater, Yellowwater, Blackwater and Brownwater (mixture of feces with urine), to receive treatment according to their characteristics and potential for reuse. The brownwater, or fecal material, when water-free, have individual on the management by having a significant number of microorganisms and meet psychosocial problems in large-scale applicability. However, the fecal material is rich in organic matter and has a significant amount of nutrients like N and P. This study aimed to evaluate the aerobic biodegradation of wastes of faecal origin. The biodegradability was assessed by aerobic respirometry, using four treatments (T 1, T 2, T 3 and T 4) with three bacteria (A, J, N) and a control (C). It was noted that the composition of the treatments was significant on the results, in which T1 and T3, showed the highest values in mg CO2. The result with lower CO2 production (mg) was T 4. The bacterial inoculation was not representative, since A, J and N had similar among themselves, and yet the bacteria N was similar to control (C), it is not possible to identify the bacteria more efficiently
