This work intends to analyze the political manifestations of the Igreja Evangélica Assembleia de Deus during the period of the Military Dictatorship (1964-1985), taking as its main source the Mensageiro da Paz newspaper. Motivated by a conception of the world that is supported by a vigorous religious system of representations, the Pentecostal denomination positioned itself in order to assert its ideal of society, based on the discourse of maintaining the order and good customs, that is, in the defense of certain moral values, articulated around anti-communism (and this one with different faces). In addition, it is a fundamental objective to observe the formatting and consolidation of the political project of the Assemblies of God, highlighting its agents and important characters, and the strategies used to achieve the desired success. For this, we seek to understand the internal dynamics of the Church and the external factors, present in this context, that allow the development of a new political stage of the entity. Therefore, to fulfill the purpose of reflecting on the political proposal of the Assembly in the conjuncture, which began in 1964, going until the end of the Dictatorship. In the midst of this analysis, and entering the year 1985, it is intended to investigate the political behavior of the Assemblies of God in that year, with the establishment of the New Republic.
