With the growing importance of internationalization in higher education, international academic mobility has been increasingly highlighted. This brings new challenges for institutions, as there are many risks involved and the potential for incidents. Therefore, this study aimed to elaborate an action plan for management of incidents with students in international mobility, specific to the Federal University of Espirito Santo, standardizing a response from the institution and bringing operational security to staff. Aiming this, a diagnosis of the current situation was made through questionnaires with students who went through mobility, and interviews with the International Office staff of the researched university. It was concluded that the areas of greatest concern are the areas of health, safety, and emotional/psychological issues, and the staff have no guidance on how to act in these situations. A study of good practices was performed through documentary analysis of action plans adopted by two foreign institutions and the resources available at Ufes and at the city of Vitoria were collected through documentary research. Using all the information collected, action flows in the event of incidents with international students at Ufes, or students studying abroad, were formulated, for each of the areas of greatest concern.
