The following study aims was identify how visual operational management techniques, used in conjunction with Hoshin Kanri, provide an increase in the level of "Maturity of the Strategy Management Process". In theoretical terms, this study accepts concepts related to strategy implementation and management. More specifically, the focus is on combining visual management techniques with the Hoshin Kanri method for managing strategy. This study aims to explore such a combination, to then assess its impact on performance results and on the maturity level of the strategy management process. For this, action research was carried out in an executive management, of a business unit of a world-class mining company, it is a study of qualitative and exploratory nature. Data collection took place through participant observation and document analysis. In an attempt to extrapolate the specificity of this action research to other situations and identify how this study could inform similar organizations and similar issues, it was possible to assume that: by integrating strategy with routine management, routine becomes an integral part of strategy and strategy routine, a fact that can cultivate both “logical incrementalism” to deliberate strategy and the recognition of “emergent strategies”. This integration can contribute to the dynamics of the strategy and to the direction of the routine.
