Smartphone na educação básica: percepção dos professores de biologia em escolas da rede pública de São Mateus - ES

Resumo

In view of the growing use of the smartphone by the school community, together with the public policies of the state of Espírito Santo related to the use of this equipment, we carried out research to investigate the perception of teachers regarding the use of this device as a pedagogical resource in the teaching of biology. Interviews were conducted with eight teachers from four high schools in the public network of the municipality of São Mateus/ES. Three schools were administered by the State Government of Espírito Santo and one by the Federal Government. In the same schools, a questionnaire was supplied to 158 students, in order to know their profile about the possibility of using the cell phone in the classroom. Finally, a survey was carried out on specific applications available for the teaching of biology. The results indicate that most students have smarthphone, have internet acess and use this tool in school practice and that the teachers allow the use of the cell phone in the classroom for pedagogical purposes and consider their use advantageous, indicating an understanding of the potential of this technology as an adjunct to teaching. Although teachers are interested in using smartphones, we see a lack of training and training for teachers, although the State Government is investing in public policies that aim to assist the teacher with this tool. In this way, we have produced a guide to suggestions for free applications, games and simulators categorized by areas of knowledge in biology to be used in the classroom in order to expand and improve the options of using the mobile device for teaching biology as well how to contribute to the continuing education of teachers
