Resumo
Mediation, a concept developed by Lev Semyonovitch Vigotski, is a topic of great relevance to several fields of knowledge. According to the Marxist author, mediation is essential for human learning and development. Thus, we understand that their study opens up possibilities for understanding human beings, trying to explain how they relate to their world and develop. Therefore, the aim of this study was to seek to understand and analyze the concept of mediation along with its implications for education. Firstly, the author's life story is presented, as well as his theoretical basis. Then, it is pointed out how the concept of mediation was developed and created by Vigotski and finally its importance for the school, a place where relationships will be established and mediators will be contributing so that knowledge and relationships between subjects can happen. Mediation is essential for the school, so mediators must be understood as necessary auxiliaries that will be contributing significantly to the development of higher psychological functions in schoolchildren. To respond to the proposed objective, this research analyzed the concept of mediation epistemologically and historically, a bibliographic research is being carried out. Understanding the concept first, we can later verify in this study how it is of great value to education.
