Resumo

The provision of full-time education in the state network of Espírito Santo began in 2015 with a focus on secondary education. In addition to extending the workload for students, the Full-Time Schools (FTS) offer education through integrative components, full-time teachers, besides to the premise of participation in school management. In this context, this research aims to analyze the difference in efficiency, in terms of high school learning evaluated by Paebes, between FTS and regular schools in 2019 in the state of Espírito Santo, using the school as the unit of analysis. 117 state schools were analyzed, of which 30 are full-time and 87 are regular-time schools. The research is identified as descriptive, quantitative and using secondary data. To estimate the relative efficiency of school units, the non-parametric method of data envelopment analysis was used, more specifically the DEA-BCC model with product-oriented analysis. The input variables considered were: number of classrooms, permanent and temporary teachers, as well as the evaluation of a good relationship. The products evaluated were proficiency in Portuguese and mathematics. The results showed that only 21 state schools are efficient, 7 FTS and 14 regular schools. Of efficient schools, only 17 were identified as benchmark. It is concluded that average technical efficiency of the FTS it was 0,931, even than the most average in ETI with 0,938.
