Resumo

This work is a study on the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi, patron saint de Monsarás, municipality of Salvaterra, in the archipelago of Marajó/PA. Has as objective to understand the circuit and the dynamics of the party from the analysis of the narratives of local interlocutors, based on theoretical-methodological approximations between Geography and Anthropology. It was sought, from the party, interpret not just a specific period of the year, but report the movements, routes, relationships established by the residents, participating, making, remaking, creating and recreating the circuits of the patron saint's feast. of this In this way, I studied cultural manifestation through participant observation and of the narratives of its protagonists, seeking to identify a know-how that, in Monsarás, is spatialized in meanings, and relationships of reciprocity that delimit experiences, creating identity territories and producing symbolically the places of the party. We identified territorial practices that involve the party circuits, resisting the passage of time. During the carrying out this work, with the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic “to avoid exposing oneself to death”, the feast of Saint Francis of Assisi needed to be adapted to the moment and realigned in its dynamics to the new reality, ensuring that his devotees were grateful for the graces obtained and made their promises for the year to come.
