An expanded vision for the act of retextualizing is characterized by the transformation of a written text inside one textual genre without modify the initial genre. This strategy could be developed through the analysis of the work “Recounting a tale: the Christmas turkey”, created by the subject of Comunication and Verbal Expression, offered by PUC/SP, at the first semester of 1982. The students rewrote the tale of Mario de Andrade from the view of different characters. So, the same topic was narrated under differentiated discursive perspectives, keeping the initial genre. This way to anylise the text enabled a deeper study of textual aspects that several times aren"t take into account in the rereading of texts neither in the text production of written genres. Under this assumption, this paper aims to conduct an analysis of retextualized texts produced by studants of the the third period of Social Communication, from the Federal University of Espírito Santo, which constitute the corpus of this research with the aim of analyze the referencing process and the construction of the objects to speech in the retextualized texts. The theoretical scope is based on the referencing process Koch (2004 e 2006) and the (re)construction of the objects to speech, Cavalcante (2003, 2011) e Mondada & Dubois (2003). Besides, the theory of genres of Marcuschi (2008) – that approaches the notions of language, text, genre, understanding, in view of sociointeractionist language – will also be used. The initial theories about retextualizing – in Marcuschi (2001), Travaglia (2003) e Dell"Isola (2007) – will be resumed with the aim of draw the theoretical path to reach new prospects to the expansion of the concept of retextualization.
