Entre subidas e descidas : as culturas da infância pelas ladeiras da região da Vila Rubim

Abstract

We aim to investigate the dialogues woven among children's cultures, such as traditions, socioeconomic conditions and cultural characteristics of children living in the region of Vila Rubim, in Vitória/ES. The research is developed using two methodological strategies: an exploratory study and an ethnographic case study, both carried out in the streets and squares of the region. The exploratory study takes place in the initial phase of the research and aims to denaturalize the look about different socio-spatial practices developed by children who move in the region and reveal their interactions in/with the urban world. Such stage of the research, allows understanding that in the socio-spatial interpretations performed by the children, they interrelate their experiences, the social relations they establish with others and the own physical dimension of space. Based on the findings of the exploratory study, an ethnographic case study is carried out in order to reveal the manifestations of children's cultures in the common spaces of Vila Rubim. The results of the investigation indicate that the children appropriate themselves, share and narrate creatively the space in which they live; ways of sociability that allow sociocultural exchange among groups. Through these exchanges, they insert themselves and (re) construct the traditions and cultural memories present on the hills and lowlands of the region.
