A guerrilha amordaçada: a ALN na imprensa (1969-1974)

Abstract

This text dealt with the restored Military Regimen by means of a blow in 1964 April, first and that it was marked by authoritarianism, suppression of the constitucional laws, persecution politics, arrest and torture of the opponents and for the previous censorship to the medias. It is important mention the government of General Emilio Garrastazu Médici (1969-1974) where had great shock between military government and the armed left. Moment where the military government, by means of efficient repressive device, arrested and tortured in a way until now never registered. The main forces of opposition had been analyzed or Seted Disagreements, having as main focus the disagreement led for Carlos Marighella, ALN (National Liberator Action) that obtained a significant number of adepts and, for diverse times, carried through victorious operations against the military, obtaining even though a certain popularity with the kidnappings of foreign ambassadors, but it did not get the waited success due, mainly, the efficient repressive apparatus. The object of this study is the great press of the period, in that if it relates to its journalistic covering of the events, here represented by periodicals O Globo, Jornal do Brasil and the Revista Veja, therefore our sources of research. Each one offered its version of the events. The censorship acted of brutal form, mainly against that they were not adepts to the regimen tax. But, this is not the only reason for a contradictory version and even though maken a mistake on the left. Affirmations are evidenced that help to understand better a disturbed, repressive and ditatorial period.
