Considering the importance of computational modeling to estimate the behavior and ultimate fate of oil at sea, this study aims to develop computational algorithms that depict the process of vertical dispersion of the oil flow is not homogeneous. Two algorithms are proposed lagrangian following two different methodologies with respect to the calculation of turbulent velocities in the vertical direction, the method presented by Legg and Raupach (1982) and the method suggested by Wilson, Legg and Thomson (1983). The simulations were performed considering an instant oil spill in the sea surface. Tests were performed with solutions of numerical algorithms, and the analytical solution algorithm, for comparison of the solutions. Simulations performed in four different scenarios allowed the verification of physical activity in the vertical dispersion of the oil. The results show the effect of pushing force and turbulence in the vertical movement of the droplets of oil.
