The research will have as a base and guiding line of dialogue, the essay by the philosopher, writter and translator Walter Benjamin, The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction (1936), with the objective of investigating theoretical subsidies to develop specific reflections about music. The categories of technical reproduction of sound and musical aura occupy the centrality of the debate regarding music in two possibilities or study parameters. A line of investigation of a theoretical nature, refers to the problem of sound/ musical reception in the historical context of technical reproduction of sound. And the other investigative line of the nature of musical language promoted in the domains of creative processes. Along this path, the dialogue with authors such as Paul Valéry, Fernando Iazzetta, Jacques Attali, Alexandre Freitas, Fabiano Costa, Sérgio Basbaum, as well as the dialogue with works that deal with the history of musical genres and contemporary artists, will seek to combine theoretical reflection with musical research in historical aspects and creative processes.
