The Institutional Scholarship Program for Initiation to Teaching (PIBID) is an initiative of the Education Ministry inserted in public educational policy focused on teacher education. The PIBID involves Higher Education Institutions, through their degree courses, and public basic education schools, through their supervisor teachers and students. The PIBID provides the insertion of the graduate in the school environment, creating opportunities to experience the reality of teaching joining supervisors and their students. The present study investigated the contribution of the PIBID of the Biological Sciences course of the Centro Universitário Norte do Espírito Santo (CEUNES) of the Espírito Santo University for the continuous training of the Sciences and Biology supervisor teachers of public schools of São Mateus/ES. The PIBID/CEUNES/BIOLOGY Annual Reports analysis showed considerable growth in differentiated didactic-pedagogical activities and many publications and scientific dissemination in 2010/2015 period, with decrease in 2016. While the increasing is credited to the evolution and recognition of PIBID in schools, the decrease refers to the negative economic moment and prospects of extinction of the program. Supervisors of PIBID/CEUNES/BIOLOGY were interviewed and reported an increase in students and teacher‟s motivation due to the insertion of activities, and their positive results, and to the interaction with the higher education institution, resulting in the continued formation and professional improvement of these supervisors teachers and, in some cases, their entrance in graduate programs. Finally, pibidians and ex-pibidians of PIBID/CEUNES/BIOLOGY were interviewed and reported that the Program allowed the experience of act on school environment, participating directly in the activities with the supervisor teacher, providing a reflection process on their daily practice and influencing the process of their career identity.
