Mulheres que rimam : narrativa do Melanina MC's como instrumento de reterritorialização

Abstract

This thesis analyzes the female reterritorializations in the Espírito Santo’s rap, having as object of study the first and only album of the group Melanina MC’s: Female System. Representing one of the elements of the Hip Hop Movement, which has emerged as a form of protest and political-cultural mobilization of marginal communities, rap is seen as a product of the radical media, present in alternative popular culture. However, because it is an urban expression, many women are denied the role of protagonists in the Movement. That’s because the urban space is historically male, where women suffer physical and symbolic violence from patriarchy, which results in a hostile environment for their occupation. Therefore, this work investigates those who occupy this territory, in order to understand if their discourse questions the hegemonic power relations that corroborate the intersectional oppression of race, gender and class
