Resumo
This paper deals with a case study among Tupinikim of CaieirasVelhas village from analysis of current crop, in an attempt to understand the territory and culture resignificados by this people, with the aim of demonstrating how the territory and culture concepts are intertwined and that may or may not change from the interests of these communities. The indigenous people of Aracruz pass through multiple territorial clashes since the arrival of multinational Aracruz Celulose in their territories, which significantly changed your environment and ways of life. After 40 years of struggle they take over their land and they are trying to rebuild their experiences and dignity lost. To seek to understand the concepts of territory and culture we have chosen to analyze the economic activities developed within the village in question, with emphasis on the production of cassava. As it is a current study participant observation, interviews and the field were essential for the completion of any work, which is to be attended by the active participation of the population in the production of this research.
