Efeito não-lineares de relatividade geral e matéria escura em galáxias

Abstract

The dynamics os galaxies is usually evaluated within newtonian gravity, since general relativity non linear e?ects are assumed negligible in this context. Nevertheless, some recent proposals pose doubts in this procedure. In this dissertation we review and critically evaluate two proposals that suggest that these non linear e?ects could be strong enough to eliminate the dark matter necessity in galaxies. Beyond reinforcing criticisms on the theoretical basis, we show that the adopted procedures for the first proposal are not phenomenologically robust and may lead to results that significantly di?er from the observational data, on the other hand the second proposal shows satisfactory results. Futhermore, we emphasize that the current understanding of the galaxy dynamics in the general relativity context is not yet robust, hence a precise evaluation of its corrections is still in need for additional attention.
