Um estudo de caso da migração baiana na RMGV-o fluxo migratório entre o distrito de Pimenta (Mascote-BA) e o bairro Jesus de Nazareth (Vitória-ES) a partir da década de 1980

Abstract

It Addresses the Bahian migration directed to the Metropolitan Region of Grande Vitória, with the case study the Neighborhood Jesus de Nazareth, located in Vitória - ES, which has received a significant number of migrants from the end of the 1980s, and also Pimenta district, located in the city of Mascote - BA, which suffered population loss in recent decades. The study stands out as the cause of migration the agrarian restructure of Southern Bahia, caused by the cocoa crisis, which is the consequence of the low cocoa prices and the advance of the witches' broom disease. On the other hand, attractive factors such as the possibilities for improvement of working conditions and quality of life, directed migration to RMGV. The survey has highlighted the formation of migratory networks that intensified the migratory flow and eased the integration of migrants on the final destination.
