This work aims to analyze the coherence and argumentative orientation in Facebook comments and it bases on referencing and the discursive topic. This investigation focuses on the theoretical contribution of Textual Linguistics, from a sociocognitive and interactional perspective: MARCUSCHI (1999; 2002; 2007; 2008); KOCH (2003; 2006; 2007; 2015); JUBRAN (1992; 2006); MONDADA and DUBOIS (2003); LINS (2006; 2008); STORRER (2009); SCHNOTZ (2009); CAVALCANTE (2014; 2017); GALEMBECK (2017); ELIAS (2017); CABRAL (2017); LINS and CAPISTRANO (2017). About the studies on interactions in digital social networks: DEGANO (2014); RECUERO (2014; 2017); BARTON & LEE (2015); PAVEAU (2017); OLIVEIRA (2019) and in the papers on argumentation: KOCH e ELIAS (2016) and CABRAL (2011; 2017). The corpus of this study uses the comments of two Facebook posts on the UOL Notice’s page, however, we emphasize that, because it is a qualitative research, we analyzed a section of these comments. The selection has made by the criterion of quantity of reactions to the posts versus the time of publication, being the collection accomplished through prints. In the adopted perspective, we understand that there are no incoherent texts in themselves and that all (hyper) textual production has an argumentative orientation. Thus, we found that on Facebook, contextually, the users, through multiple connections establish referential chains and highlight the focus and relevance of the discursive topic. These relationships enable users to build coherence and guide the argumentation of their comments, aided mainly by the constant use of the various technological resources available in the virtual environment. Constant interactivity and collaborative participation characterize people's everyday experiences and serve to express their thoughts, feelings and opinions in a constant inter and (hyper) textual practice of reading and writing, on Facebook's comment systems
