It discusses the application of a Financial Mathematics teaching program, which includes both basic concepts and notions of the National Financial System and brief history of the Economic Plans of the 1980s and proposes the use of didactic instruments such as ICTs, games and dynamics of groups. Methodologically, it is based on André (2001), Angrosino (2009), Gil (2002) and on Fiorentini and Lorenzato (2012), being configured as an ethnographic case study, which was carried out with a 3rd year class of the EEEFM Wallace Castelo Dutra, from July to November 2017. It describes the unfolding of the application of the proposed didactic sequence for the purposes of the research, analyzes the performance of the groups in the activities, and categorizes the students' statements according to models established by Bardin (2011). The classes were taught using a didactic material for Teaching Financial Mathematics, prepared according to the official Brazilian education documents (LDB, DCNEM, PCNEM and OCNEM). The classes were recorded in video and through annotations on the researcher's logbook. Throughout the classes, a series of activities were applied, whose questions observed the criteria of reality and semi-reality described by Skovsmose (2014). In the merit of the results, it indicates that the classes contributed satisfactorily to the development of the financial knowledge of the observed class; however, emphasizes the need for continuation of studies directed to the teaching of Financial Mathematics in Basic Education and the insertion of financial education in the school curriculum.
