Simulação da camada limite planetária sobre a região metropolitana da Grande Vitória com o uso do modelo de mesoescala WRF

Resumo

The main objective of this survey is to use the mesoscale WRF (Weather Research and Forecasting) mathematical model to perform the simulation of the temporal and spatial Planetary Boundary Layer behaviour on the Metropolitan Region of Grande Vitória (RMGV), Espírito Santo, in view of the knowledge of its dynamic and thermodynamic properties as well as the comparison of the results obtained with observational data measured by weather stations present in this region. In order to validate the results of WRF model forecasts, experimental data from various meteorological surface stations and radiosonding data are used. Two distinct periods were chosen to carry out this survey: winter of July 20th to July 26th of 2008 and summer from March 1 st to March 07th of 2009. Comparisons with experimental data indicate that the WRF model achieves a better adjust especially for the summer period, the potential temperature and the temperature at 2m are represented very well, however the wind speed at 10m shows that in some regions the model have not achieved a good adjustment.
