Introduction: Violence is a multi-causal, intersectional phenomenon that permeates people's lives and daily work practices in Primary Care. Because Primary Care is constituted to act in the territory, it performs its function with the greatest decentralization and capillarity possible, being located closer to the life of the population, which favors the tracking of violence. Still, it is the main gateway and the first option for users looking for health services. The Primary Care work teams are composed mainly of women. The condition of being a woman and at the same time being a health worker, allows us to think about how violence crosses her personal and professional existence. Therefore, we start from the premise that while women and workers are doubly affected by this phenomenon, its causes and consequences put them in a different condition to experience situations of violence. These being the factors, which particularly justifies a different look on the part of health workers to the violence that affects women in the context of Primary Care. Objectives: To analyze the perception of health workers about violence against women; Identify from the perception of health workers how the different forms of welcoming and affecting situations of violence against women in Primary Care in the municipality of Vitória, Espírito Santo are produced in the organization of health work; Describe strategies to face violence against women from the perception and experiences of health workers in Primary Care, in the city of Vitória, ES. Methodology: Study of a qualitative approach, being carried out through a questionnaire with self-applied open questions with women, workers of Primary Care. The collection was carried out in July 2020, after the “lockdown” period (total block) phase of the isolation protocol because of the COVID pandemic19. Data analysis: Thematic content analysis. Results: The results show that health workers are affected by the theme and perceive violence against women as related to social inequality, naturalized, reinforced by macho behavior and with black women being the most vulnerable. They describe coping with violence through the flow of care, they believe that qualified listening and welcoming, as a humanized practice of care, is a fundamental instrument for creating a bond for empowerment, avoiding the process of re- victimizing women.
