Resumo

Science teaching in the final grades of elementary school is permeated with challenges that affect the quality of the teaching and learning process. On the one hand, we find licensed teachers in science teaching chemistry and physics content, and most of the time their training did not include the necessary knowledge generating discomfort when teaching such content, adding the use of teaching methodologies that do not always promote meaningful learning. On the other hand, we find the students' low interest in the discipline, caused by the difficult understanding of the studied contents. In this work, a continuous training course was developed with teachers from the municipal and state of São Mateus-ES, with the objective of offering complementary training on the teaching of chemistry in the final grades of elementary school, addressing the practices and possibilities for teaching chemistry. The research was carried out in order to identify the difficulties in teaching chemistry and physics experienced by science teachers of EF, identifying the methodologies used and discussing the conceptions of science teaching addressed in the BNCC. With the results obtained, there is a division between teachers who defend the new curricular organization proposed by BNNC and those who do not agree. The most prominent point is the reduction and / or withdrawal of essential content in science education in elementary school. The training course provided teachers from the state and municipal schools with a moment of debate and discussions about the BNCC, about the contents of physics and chemistry seen throughout elementary school and the methodologies used in science teaching. It is noted that teachers are always looking for strategies to facilitate the teachinglearning process.
