Resumo

The use of the graphic programming language, Scratch, in this work, is focused on the need to associate the programming language with to teaching and used as an introduction to the content about magnitudes and measures in the Cartesian plan for the 9th grade of Elementary School II. The scripts used in this thesis works, in relation to Mathematics, as a tool that encourages student learning and provides (gives) the opportunity to serve as an aid in problem solving through experimentation and reflection, as it requires a non-automatic response that encourages creativity, effective participation, discussion of ideas and provides meaningful learning. It is also presented the student’s evaluation when using this platform in the proposed activities on: line segment in the Cartesian plane, parallel segments in relation to the axes in the Cartesian plane, the use of calculating the distance between two points, the midpoint of a segment, the construction of triangles, squares and rectangles, the calculation of perimeter and area of the rectangle in the Cartesian plane and proportionality of segments.
