"Mulher ao cair da tarde" : o sofrimento na poesia de Adélia Prado

Abstract

This study investigates the meanings, the expression and the importance of the suffering in the poetry of Adélia Prado. By suffering we refer not to the general sense of the word, that involves all kinds of passions somebody can be subject, but specifically its negative, lacrimal aspect, the hurts and the sadness of an individual. Our path starts in the very concept of poetry and its present implications. From the onthological comprehension of her art, we go in search of an idea of human condition expressed in the set of poems with special attention for its three principal thematic axis: sex, death and God. From this moment to forth we concentrate specifically in the importance of the suffering in her whole lyrical work. Between the main arguments verified we can mention the sin’s situation, the conscious acceptation of the pain and the “hunger of immortality”.
