Resumo

The main objective of this study was choose a treatment route for the wastewater of the non-alcoholic and noncarbonated drink production, using a step of electrocoagulation. The analytical parameters monitored was conductivity, pH, temperature, COD and turbidity. Another parameters like current density and charge density was evalueted for the processes optimization. The treatment routes tested was: electrocoagulation, electrocoagulation followed by Fenton's reaction, electrofenton and electrocoagulation followed by solar photofenton. The wastewater used in this research is originated by a company located at Espírito Santo, that manufacture fruit juice ready to drink, teas and isotonic. The characteristics of the effluent, such as heterogeneity, high concentrations of COD and its high acidity, pose major challenges for treatment. The collected samples was send to LQA at UFES to the treatment tests and chemical analysis. The electrocoagulation didn’t reach yields to be the only treatment route to this wastewater, which makes necessary the fenton’s reagent use in three different processes. The electrofenton reaches good results like 40% COD removal, but the most efficient process was electrocoagulation followed by fenton’s reaction that reaches 60% of COD removal. The electrocoagulation followed by solar photofenton appears like a promising technique, but need be improved. The results of this research allow to observe the viability to build an electrocoagulation coupled with the fenton for the treatment of the non-alcoholic and noncarbonated drinks wastewater, providing an adjustment of the treatment system
